Workshop-3D-colourising tool

3D-colourizing tool

The difference between traditional techniques and new media is sometimes only small. So too in this new workshop: 3D colourising tool. Using augmented reality, children can add something to reality using an iPad or tablet. The children will colour a specially prepared colouring page all over. They can do this with pencil, marker or pen. When this is done, they will scan it with a tablet. This makes the colouring picture come to life and can be viewed in 3D. The special app also reacts when you press on the image. For instance, a car can spontaneously start driving, or a flare can be shot off. You can go all the way around the colouring picture with the tablet, so that the spatial colouring work can be clearly seen. In this special workshop, children are playfully introduced to the technology of augmented reality. And it is an experience they will remember for a long time!

Key objectives
Students learn to use media to communicate. This allows them to translate topics as they perceive them through a digital tool. They acquire some knowledge about, and gain an appreciation of, aspects of their living environment. Also, in an exploratory phase, they acquire knowledge about new techniques such as augmented reality. They also learn to deal with new media, such as tablets and iPads. Pupils learn to look differently at their environment, as well as improving their sensory perception. (core objectives 54 and 55)
