Workshop-Digital zoo
A classroom is a student's environment while they are at school. However, the layout is often the same: with chairs, benches, an IWB and everyone having their own space. With the 'Digital zoo' workshop, we are going to change that.
Working with augmented reality plays an important role in this workshop. We are going to add wild animals to the classroom. Not real animals of course, but virtual animals. For instance, a tiger might suddenly walk through the classroom or a guitar-playing monkey might come and cheer you up. By connecting an iPad to the IWB, the whole class can see which animals are added and where they are. A game ensues between the person managing the virtual subjects and the pupils trying to get in touch with the virtual animals. This special workshop stimulates the pupils' imagination and playfully teaches them new techniques such as augmented reality.
