Digital creativity

Workshop-Smart Art

Smart art

Artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence is on the rise. You see applications coming by everywhere such as in traffic lights, algorithms, healthcare and infrastructure. But artificial intelligence (KI) can also be used to create art. These days, for instance, artists work with NFTs. NFT stands for 'non-fungible token'. Translated into Dutch, it means: non-exchangeable, irreplaceable digital certificate of ownership. This way, every artist can create his or her own unique artwork.
In this workshop, students will work on their own with drawings, photos, texts, computers and tablets to create their own artistic narrative. Playfully, the children learn how to influence KI to shape their own creative process. They also learn about the possibilities and risks of artificial intelligence.

Key objectives
Students learn to use pictures to communicate. This allows them to translate subjects as they perceive them through a digital tool. They gain some knowledge about, and appreciation for, aspects of their environment. Also, in an exploratory phase, they acquire artificial intelligence as an art form. They also learn to deal with new media, such as cameras. The pupils learn to look differently at their environment as well as improving their sensory perceptions. (core objectives 54 and 55)
