Workshop 0027 - The proven art of photography

The art of photography

Photography is an absolute art.

This workshop introduces secondary school students to the art of photography. They will delve into different facets of photography. Among other things, they will learn the techniques "depth of focus" and "motion blur". But also what the influence of camera position and light is for taking a good photo.

In groups, pupils are sent out in the vicinity of the school. They are given a real photo camera to carry out a number of photographic tasks. Before they set off, they are first given comprehensive instruction on how their camera works and general guidelines such as the AVG provision.
Afterwards, the results are discussed with the teacher and they can reflect on them.

Key objectives
Learning the medium of photography by working with different camera angles, as well as understanding the technical workings of a camera. In addition, the sense of composition, expression and visual language is strengthened. The pupil learns to use visual or auditory means to report on participation in artistic activities, both as a spectator and as a participant. (core objective 51)
Students learn to reflect orally or in writing on their own work and the work of others, including artists. (core objective 52)
